WASHINGTON, D.C. -- In response to the introduction of the Expanding Broadcast Ownership Opportunities Act, the following statement may be attributed to NAB Executive Vice President of Communications Dennis Wharton:

NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt will participate in a keynote conversation with comedian Chris Hardwick at NAB Show on Tuesday, April 25 in Las Vegas. NAB Show, held April 22-27, is the world’s largest convention encompassing the convergence of media, entertainment and technology.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- In response to performance royalty legislation introduced today by Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) that would require radio stations to obtain permission from record labels to play their songs, the following statement may be attributed to NAB Executive Vice President of Communications Dennis Wharton:

The 2017 NAB Show will feature Global TV Tech Day, a new, day-long program that explores emerging media technologies from the perspective of the world’s leading media standards development organizations, industry forums and key implementers. Produced by PILOT and open to all attendees, Global TV Tech Day will take place Saturday, April 22 in room N260 of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Popular media personalities and former co-hosts of ABC’s “Good Morning America” David Hartman and Joan Lunden will receive the NAB Distinguished Service Award (DSA) during the 2017 NAB Show in Las Vegas. The duo will accept their awards at the NAB Show Opening, sponsored by Blackmagic Design, on Monday, April 24.

TMZ Creator and Executive Producer Harvey Levin and FOX Television Stations’ Senior Vice President of Programming Frank Cicha will participate in an NAB Show keynote panel focused on syndicated entertainment news. The Super Session, entitled “The Real Story: A Take on Syndicated Entertainment News” will take place on April 24 at the Las Vegas Convention Center at 3:30 p.m. PT on the Main Stage North (N249).

Chief Digital Officer of CBS Corporation/Chief Executive Officer of CBS Interactive Jim Lanzone and Vice President of Digital Video for Amazon Michael Paull will participate in keynote sessions in the Online Video Conference at the 2017 NAB Show, held April 22-27 in Las Vegas. The Online Video Conference is produced in partnership with VideoNuze.
