WASHINGTON, D.C. -- In response to a letter from 54 members of the House of Representatives to the FCC urging the protection of over-the-air television in rural America during the incentive auction proceeding, the following statement may be attributed to NAB President and CEO Gordon Smith:

The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) has joined with the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) to present the NABSBE Satellite Uplink Operators Training Workshop. Held at NAB headquarters September 30 – October 3, 2013, the Workshop will provide instruction on how to comply with FCC satellite regulations through formal training on the technical and operational practices that ensure safe, interference-free satellite transmissions for digital video and broadcast systems.
