WASHINGTON, DC -- In regards to tomorrow's markup by the House Energy & Commerce Committee of legislation to address the likely shortfall in funding available for the broadcast spectrum auction repack, the following statement can be attributed to NAB President and CEO Gordon Smith:

CBS News Digital’s top executive Christy Tanner will keynote the Online Video Program at the 2018 NAB Show in Las Vegas on Tuesday, April 10. The session will explain how CBSN, CBS News’ streaming video news service launched in 2014, is creating new value for viewers, advertisers and CBS Corporation. The Online Video Program is produced in partnership with VideoNuze.

Television and film actress Kristen Bell will receive the NAB Television Chairman’s Award during the new NAB: We Are Broadcasters Celebration on April 10 at the 2018 NAB Show in Las Vegas. The award honors individuals for a significant breakthrough in television.

Digital managers-turned-senior corporate leaders from top broadcast companies will discuss the shift in corporate executive progression from digital professional to CEO in a panel at the 2018 NAB Show in Las Vegas on Monday, April 9.

The Travel Video Awards (TVAs) will debut at the 2018 NAB Show on April 11 in Las Vegas. Produced by Citizine Networks, Inc., the awards honor innovative and inspiring travel videos released in 2017 by independent filmmakers, the travel industry, media companies and lifestyle brands.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- NAB Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer Sam Matheny testified this morning at a Subcommittee on Emergency Preparedness, Response, and Communications hearing titled "Ensuring Effective and Reliable Alerts and Warnings."

The 2018 NAB Show will debut the Streaming Summit, a one-day conference on Wednesday, April 11 at the Westgate. The program, which is co-produced by streaming industry expert Dan Rayburn, will focus on the dynamics of the streaming media business, from advances in technology to monetization opportunities and content offerings.
