In response to a letter filed by Free Press and others with the FCC today regarding the Commission's media ownership review, the following statement can be attributed to NAB Executive Vice President of Communications Dennis Wharton:

WASHINGTON, DC/ARLINGTON, VA - The National Radio Systems Committee (NRSC) today released a new report which presents the results of a quantitative analysis on Program Associated Data (PAD), specifically on the number of characters needed to display song title, artist name and album title fields. The NRSC is a technical standards-setting body co-sponsored by the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) and the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA).
