Paul Dughi Appointed to NAB Television Board

WASHINGTON -- NAB Television Board Chair Marci Burdick has appointed Paul Dughi to the NAB TV Board of Directors effective immediately. Dughi takes the board seat that was vacated when Paul Karpowicz, president, Meredith Corporation - Local Media Group, was elected Joint Board Chair.

Elvis Duran to Host NAB Marconi Radio Awards Dinner & Show

WASHINGTON, D.C./NEW YORK -- The National Association of Broadcasters announced that the 2011 NAB Marconi Radio Awards Dinner & Show will be hosted by nationally syndicated radio host Elvis Duran. The event will take place September 15 at the 2011 Radio Show at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago, Illinois.

NABEF Announces Fellowship Recipients For the Executive Development Seminar

WASHINGTON, DC - The NAB Education Foundation (NABEF) announced today the recipients of the Professional Fellowship program. Eight fellowship recipients were selected to attend the NAB Executive Development Seminar on July 25 - 28, 2011 in Washington, D.C. Recipients were selected from a pool of qualified candidates of demonstrated ability who show promise for future advancement in radio and television.

FCC Broadband Plan Threatens Millions of TV Viewers

WASHINGTON, DC -- Forty percent of full power local television stations in the U.S. could have to vacate their current TV channel assignment under the FCC's National Broadband Plan, and a minimum of 210 of those stations could go off the air permanently, according to an NAB analysis released today.
