Scott Borchetta, president and CEO of Big Machine Label Group, will participate in a Radio Show session entitled "The Relationship Between Music and Radio…We Need Each Other." Borchetta was instrumental in developing the business model for the recent groundbreaking deal struck with Clear Channel in which the largest owner of U.S. radio stations has agreed to pay sound-recording performance royalties to Big Machine.

WASHINGTON, DC -- The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) announced it will offer a new webcast series, titled NAB Virtual Academy for Radio: Big Ideas for Small Markets. Radio's leading consultants, trainers, broadcasters and personalities will host the live, interactive webcast series, which will include tangible solutions to challenges faced every day by small market broadcasters. This exclusive NAB member benefit begins on Tuesday, October 2, with additional webcasts on November 15 and February 12, 2013.

The NAB Education Foundation (NABEF) has appointed four new Board members: Jeff Simpson, president and CEO, Bonneville International Corporation; Deborah Thomas, senior vice president, Human Resources, Cox Media Group; Andrea Berry, senior vice president, Media Services, Fox Networks Engineering and Operations; and B. Robert Okun, chairman and CEO, “The O Team.”

The Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) and the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) announced speakers for the 2012 Radio Show Advertiser Luncheon. The event will be held on Wednesday, September 19 at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- In response to Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) circulating discussion draft legislation that would negatively impact local radio stations across America, NAB Executive Vice President of Communications Dennis Wharton issued the following statement:

WASHINGTON, DC -- The NAB Education Foundation (NABEF), in partnership with the Broadcast Education Association (BEA), will host a Career Fair on September 18, 2012, one day prior to the 2012 Radio Show kickoff. Located in the Hilton Anatole from 1-5:00 p.m., the Radio Show Career Fair will provide experienced professionals, college students and entry-level job seekers with the opportunity to network and interview with major radio companies.

John Rich, Grammy nominated singer, songwriter and producer, has been confirmed as a participant in the previously announced Radio Show Super Session entitled "The Relationship Between Music and Radio…We Need Each Other."
