WASHINGTON, D.C. -- In response to National PrepareAthon! Day, the culmination of the America's PrepareAthon! campaign designed to increase community preparedness and resilience, the following statement can be attributed to NAB President and CEO Gordon Smith:

WASHINGTON, DC -- Sens. Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) and Jon Tester (D-MT) have been added as co-sponsors of the Local Radio Freedom Act, a resolution that opposes "any new performance fee, tax, royalty, or other charge" on local broadcast radio stations. The resolution now has 173 co-sponsors in the House of Representatives and 15 in the Senate.

The resolution now has 177 co-sponsors in the House of Representatives and 15 in the Senate.
