The National Association of Broadcasters announced the 50 finalists for the 2011 Crystal Radio Awards competition today. Since 1987, the NAB Crystal Radio Awards have recognized radio stations for their outstanding year-round commitment to community service.

Following the announcement that Michael Powell, former FCC Chairman, will serve as the new National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) president and CEO, NAB President and CEO Gordon Smith released the following statement.

Larry Patrick, founder of Patrick Communications, has been re-elected as chairman of the board of the NAB Political Action Committee, the NAB announced today.
