Following the announcement that Michael Powell, former FCC Chairman, will serve as the new National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) president and CEO, NAB President and CEO Gordon Smith released the following statement.

Larry Patrick, founder of Patrick Communications, has been re-elected as chairman of the board of the NAB Political Action Committee, the NAB announced today.

The U.S Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator (IPEC) at the White House today issued a statement endorsing a "performance right" that would require radio stations to pay a fee to record labels and performers for music played on free and local radio stations.
