The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) announced the finalists for the 2017 NAB Marconi Radio Awards, honoring radio stations and on-air personalities for excellence in broadcasting. The winners will be announced September 7 at the NAB Marconi Radio Awards Dinner & Show, sponsored by Experi and held during the 2017 Radio Show in Austin.

WASHINGTON – In response to reports of a Microsoft proposal to use television white spaces to provide wireless broadband in rural areas, the following statement can be attributed to NAB Executive Vice President of Communications Dennis Wharton:

WASHINGTON, DC -- Four Members of the House of Representatives and one Senator have joined as cosponsors of a bipartisan resolution that opposes "any new performance fee, tax, royalty, or other charge" on local broadcast radio stations. The Local Radio Freedom Act (LRFA) now has 199 cosponsors in the House and 23 in the Senate.
