PILOT, the technology division of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), is accepting submissions for its first-ever Innovation Challenge. The PILOT Innovation Challenge will recognize creative ideas that leverage technological advances in the production, distribution and display of broadcast content. The program will also provide support to the winners for development. The submission deadline is September 23.

WASHINGTON, DC -- Four members of the House of Representatives and XX Senator have joined as co-sponsors of the Local Radio Freedom Act, a resolution that opposes "any new performance fee, tax, royalty, or other charge" on local broadcast radio stations. The resolution has 232 co-sponsors in the House of Representatives and 26 in the Senate.

Renowned actress and humanitarian Sharon Stone will receive the 2016 Service to America Leadership Award from the NAB Education Foundation (NABEF) for her ongoing commitment to raising awareness and support of AIDS research, prevention and treatment. Stone will receive the honor at NABEF’s Celebration of Service to America Awards on June 21.

WASHINGTON, D.C.-- In response to the Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit's ruling ordering the FCC to update media ownership rules and vacating its prohibition on joint sales agreements (JSA) between television broadcasters, the following statement can be attributed to NAB Executive Vice President of Communications Dennis Wharton:

PILOT, the technology division of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), will produce and host “Authoring Our Future: Developing Applications for Next Gen TV,” a live webinar that explores the capabilities of the new broadcast transmission standard. The webinar will take place Wednesday, June 1 from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Don Benson, who served for over a decade as president and chief executive officer of Lincoln Financial Media Company, will receive the National Radio Award during the Radio Luncheon on Wednesday, September 21. The 2016 Radio Show, produced by the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) and National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), will be held September 21-23 in Nashville.
