WASHINGTON, D.C.-- In response to the close of bidding for Stage 1 of the forward auction of the broadcast spectrum incentive auction, the following statement can be attributed to NAB Executive Vice President of Communications Dennis Wharton:

Produced by the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) and held November 9-10 at the Javits Convention Center in New York City, the 2016 NAB Show New York will host the inaugural Live Streaming Conference on Wednesday, November 9. Facebook executive Bob Gruters, U.S. group lead, Tech/Telco, Entertainment, Restaurants, and Multicultural, will keynote the event.

Daniel McDonald, former executive director of Programming and Consumer Research at National Geographic Channels, has been named vice president of Research for the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB). McDonald starts today as head of NAB Research, a division of the NAB Communications Department, in a position held previously by Tanya Van Pool.

The 2016 Radio Show will feature BMI songwriters LOCASH, Jonny P, Graham Nash, The Roosevelts, The Sisterhood, Muddy Magnolias, Kyshona Armstrong, Modern Inventors and Shannon LaBrie as part of the Radio Show Artist Spotlight Series. The performances are free for registered attendees and will take place during select general sessions and networking opportunities throughout the show. The artists were scheduled by BMI Vice President of Industry Relations Dan Spears. The 2016 Radio Show is held September 21-23 at the Omni Nashville Hotel and produced by the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) and National Association of Broadcasters (NAB).

Leading financial forecasters and radio group executives will provide insight on radio’s economic future in a session titled “Pillsbury’s Broadcast Finance Forecast- 2016 Leadership Breakfast,” Wednesday, September 20 from 8:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at the 2016 Radio Show. The Radio Show, produced by the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) and the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), takes place September 21-23 at the Omni Nashville Hotel.

Grammy Award-winning country music star Jennifer Nettles will perform at the NAB Marconi Radio Awards Dinner & Show, sponsored by HD Radio, a DTS Solution, on Thursday, September 22. The event will take place at the 2016 Radio Show, held September 21-23 at the Omni Nashville Hotel and produced by the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) and the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB).
