WASHINGTON, D.C. – In response to the introduction by Rep. Jerrold Nadler (NY-10) of the Fair Play Fair Pay Act, which would force broadcast radio stations to pay a performance royalty for musical airplay, the following statement can be attributed to NAB President and CEO Gordon Smith:

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- In response to the end of the broadcast spectrum incentive auction, the following statement can be attributed to NAB Executive Vice President of Communications Dennis Wharton:

WASHINGTON, DC -- Three Representatives have joined as cosponsors of a resolution that opposes "any new performance fee, tax, royalty, or other charge" on local broadcast radio stations. The Local Radio Freedom Act (LRFA) now has 168 cosponsors in the House and 21 in the Senate.

WASHINGTON -- The National Association of Broadcasters has announced the results of the 2017 NAB Radio and Television Board elections. The two-year terms of the elected board members will begin in June 2017.

The 2017 NAB Show will provide an exclusive look at the development of one of TV’s most popular shows during the session, “’Game of Thrones’: Behind the Scenes With Filmmakers” on Monday, April 24 in Las Vegas. Part of the Creative Master Series and produced in partnership with the Motion Picture Sound Editors, the panel will include producers and creative professionals who will share insight on the innovative shooting styles and unique methods utilized in filming the epic series.

Recruiter registration for the NAB Education Foundation’s (NABEF) Media Sales Institute (MSI) is now open. MSI is an intensive 7-day program that trains recent college graduates for careers in media sales. Recruiters from broadcast stations and groups have the opportunity to observe program participants in sales presentations to local clients, conduct one-on-one interviews and earn Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) credit for their respective companies.

Global Lead for Business Development and Partner Management at Ford Company Scott Burnell will speak at the NAB Show Radio Luncheon, sponsored by ASCAP and held Tuesday, April 25 in Las Vegas. Burnell will discuss Ford's impact on the future of autonomous vehicles as well as Radio's future in the car.
