In honor of the 30th anniversary of the NAB Marconi Radio Awards, this year’s celebration will feature previous NAB Marconi Radio Award winners – nationally-syndicated radio personality Delilah, top-rated syndicated radio personality Rickey Smiley, and Tom and Kristi of “The Bob and Tom Show.”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – In response to today's filing of a lawsuit by ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC challenging the legality of Locast, a streaming service that rebroadcasts local TV stations without their consent, the following statement can be attributed to NAB Executive Vice President of Communications Dennis Wharton:

The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) will honor Patricia Smullin with the Chuck Sherman Television Leadership Award at the NAB Small Market Television Exchange (SMTE), held September 12 - 14 in Austin, Texas.

Leaders from the growing podcast industry will participate in “The Podcast Revolution,” a Radio Show session scheduled for Wednesday, September 25.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – In response to the introduction of legislation by Reps. Anna Eshoo (D-CA) and Steve Scalise (R-LA) that eliminates the legal underpinnings of the local broadcast system, the following statement can be attributed to NAB Executive Vice President of Communications Dennis Wharton:

WASHINGTON, DC -- Three Members of the House of Representatives and one Senator have added their cosponsorship to a resolution opposing "any new performance fee, tax, royalty, or other charge" on local broadcast radio stations. The Local Radio Freedom Act (LRFA), which signals Members of Congress's opposition to any potential legislation that imposes new performance royalties on broadcast radio stations for music airplay, now has 184 cosponsors in the House and 24 in the Senate.
