WASHINGTON, DC -- Broadcasters oppose the Satellite Television Access and Viewer Rights Act (STAVRA) outline circulated today by the Senate Commerce Committee. The proposal and its treatment of very complicated issues, many of which received no formal committee process, are inappropriate for inclusion in a STELA reauthorization.

Organizers of the Radio Show announced today the dates and locations of the 2015 and 2016 events. The Radio Show is produced by the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) and the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB).

Brightcove, Inc. will use its Video Cloud online video platform to support the live and on-demand streaming. WASHINGTON, DC -- Upon learning of the removal of the "Local Choice" broadcast-only a la carte proposal from the Satellite Television Access and Viewer Rights Act (STAVRA) by the Senate Commerce Committee, the following statement can be attributed to NAB President and CEO Gordon Smith:

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The National Radio Systems Committee (NRSC) today adopted an updated NRSC Guideline that focuses on recommendations for broadcasters and receiver manufacturers in the use of the Radio Data System (RDS) data broadcasting technology. NRSC-G300-B, RDS Usage Guideline was adopted by the Radio Broadcasting Data System (RBDS) Subcommittee, chaired by Dan Mansergh, director of engineering, KQED Public Radio, San Francisco, CA. Approximately 70 pages in length, G300-B includes a new section, 4.6, providing information on establishing adequate RDS encoder security at broadcast facilities.
