The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) will produce four sessions at the SET Expo in São Paulo, Brazil, August 24-25. The sessions will address topics ranging from sports production, 4K video, media management in the cloud, and producing content for multiple devices. NAB's participation in SET is part of the NAB Show Collaborative, an initiative to support the advancement of the global broadcast, media and entertainment communities.

WASHINGTON, DC -- The Consent Decrees governing the licensing of musical works performance rights by ASCAP and BMI provide important protections for licensees from potential anti-competitive behavior by the performance rights organizations (PROs) and their protections should be maintained in full, NAB said in comments filed today with the Department of Justice's Antitrust Division.

WASHINGTON, DC -- The rationale underlying several decades-old media ownership rules that broadcast television stations only compete against themselves in local markets is simply not true, the National Association of Broadcasters said in comments filed today with the FCC. The Commission should adjust its rules to better reflect today and tomorrow's marketplace that features competition from rival industries as it weighs relaxing ownership restrictions, NAB said.

WASHINGTON, DC -- In response to a proposal by Senate Commerce Committee Chairman Jay Rockefeller and Ranking Member John Thune to attach a plan called "Local Choice" to a Satellite Television Extension and Localism Act reauthorization bill, the following statement can be attributed to NAB Executive Vice President of Communications Dennis Wharton:

The 2014 Radio Show will feature FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai, who will engage in a conversation with NAB President and CEO Gordon Smith at the Radio Luncheon, held Friday, September 12. The 2014 Radio Show, jointly produced by the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) and National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), will be held September 10-12 in Indianapolis.

Following the success of the New Media Lounge at the 2014 NAB Show, New Media Expo (NMX) and NAB have agreed to expand their collaboration. NMX will co-locate its entire event and introduce tens of thousands of new media content creators and disruptive businesses to the NAB Show, April 13 - 16, 2015.

The 2014 Radio Show, produced by the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) and National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), will include a Super Session interview between Dan Harris, co-anchor of ABC's "Nightline" and "Good Morning America" weekend edition, and Alan Mulally, former president and chief executive officer of Ford Motor Company and current Google board member. The Super Session will occur Thursday, September 11 at 3:00 p.m.
