NAB Show organizers today announced the first round of startups selected to participate in SPROCKIT 2014. These startup companies will collaborate with and present before influencers and decision-makers in media and entertainment at the 2014 NAB Show, the world's leading convention for professionals who create, manage and distribute entertainment across all media platforms, scheduled for April 5-10 2014 in Las Vegas.

WASHINGTON, DC -- A bipartisan coalition of five Members of the House of Representatives have signed on as co-sponsors of a resolution that opposes "any new performance fee, tax, royalty, or other charge" on local broadcast radio stations. The Local Radio Freedom Act is now currently co-sponsored by 193 Members of the House and 12 Senators.

David Pogue, Yahoo tech columnist and host of NOVA ScienceNow, will speak at the NAB Show Radio Luncheon, held Tuesday, April 8 in Las Vegas and sponsored by ASCAP. NAB Show is the annual conference and expo for professionals who create, manage and distribute entertainment across all platforms.

Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Tom Wheeler will provide the "FCC Keynote" at the 2014 NAB Show in Las Vegas, the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) announced today. The address, which will be held Tuesday, April 8, 9:00-10:00 a.m., is expected to provide insight into the Chairman's views on broadcasting and what his expectations are on the regulatory front in the coming years.

The National Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation (NABEF) announced that entries are being sought for the 2014 Celebration of Service to America Awards, recognizing outstanding community service by local broadcasters. Winners will be honored at the Celebration of Service to America dinner held Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at the the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C.

The NAB Education Foundation (NABEF) will present its Corporate Leadership Award to General Motors, in recognition of the work of the General Motors Foundation, during the 16th annual Celebration of Service to America Awards, held Tuesday, June 17, at the National Building Museum. Each year, the Corporate Leadership Award is given to a non-broadcast business that exemplifies an extraordinary focus on community service and corporate social responsibility.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Veteran broadcasters Bill McElveen and Ralph Oakley have been named co-chairs of NABPAC, the political action committee of the National Association of Broadcasters, it was announced today.
