The National Association of Broadcasters announced today that FOX Television and the CW Network will host meetings with their affiliated television station representatives at the NAB Show in Las Vegas. Also, the affiliate boards of directors of ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX Television will once again hold meetings during the NAB Show.

LAS VEGAS, NV – The National Radio Systems Committee (NRSC), jointly sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) and the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), today adopted two new NRSC Guideline documents at Subcommittee meetings held in conjunction with the 2013 NAB Show. NRSC Guidelines are informative documents developed to assist radio broadcasters, broadcast equipment manufacturers, and receiver manufacturers in the effective and efficient operation and implementation of local AM and FM radio systems.

The following sessions at NAB Show will be streamed live and archived at www.nabshow.com for viewing anytime, anywhere. Brightcove, Inc. will use its Video Cloud online video platform to support the live and on-demand streaming. NewTek, located in booth SL4610, will provide equipment and services using its TriCaster technology.

NAB President and CEO Gordon Smith delivered the annual NAB State of the Industry address during the 2013 NAB Show. Below is a transcript of his remarks as prepared for delivery.

LAS VEGAS – The NAB Show, the world’s largest annual conference and expo for professionals who create, manage, and distribute entertainment across all platforms, today kicked off with a State of the Broadcast Industry Address from Gordon Smith, president and CEO of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), a performance by "American Idol" superstar Chris Daughtry, and numerous sessions showcasing a slate of innovative and entertaining speakers, all driving this year’s theme of "metamorphosis." More than 90,000 audio, video, and film content professionals from 150 countries are expected to attend the event, which runs through Thursday, April 11 in Las Vegas.

India’s legendary film actor, screenwriter, producer and director Dr. Kamal Haasan will appear at 2013 NAB Show on Tuesday, April 9, as part of a panel exploring the topic of the international appeal of Bollywood cinema.

Top TV producers from critically acclaimed television shows "Parenthood," "Grimm," "Grey's Anatomy," and "Army Wives" will appear at the 2013 NAB Show as part of the session "The Art of Keeping it Real: Storytellers' Depictions of Mental Health Issues." The session will take place at 4:15 pm - 5:15 pm on Wednesday, April 10.
