WASHINGTON, DC -- NAB will honor Schurz Communications, Inc. Chairman of the Board Franklin Schurz with the Chuck Sherman Television Leadership Award at the NAB Small Market Television Exchange, held September 22-24 in Austin, Texas.

WASHINGTON, D.C./NEW YORK -- The Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) and the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) announced today the addition of "The Road Ahead: Entertainment and Information in the Car" to the lineup of sessions for this year's Radio Show program. The super session will be held Thursday, September 15th at the Hyatt Regency Chicago.

"NAB is grateful for the leadership of Chairmen Upton and Walden, who have demonstrated time and again a recognition of the unique and positive role played by free and local television stations in communities across America. Under their proposed draft legislation to provide truly voluntary spectrum auctions, the clear intent of Congress would be to protect tens of millions of viewers relying exclusively on broadcast television against loss of service. NAB will work in a bipartisan basis with them and other lawmakers as Congress continues to debate incentive auction proposals."

WASHINGTON, DC -- The National Association of Broadcasters announced today the finalists for the 2011 NAB Marconi Radio Awards honoring radio stations and on-air personalities for excellence in broadcasting. The winners will be announced on September 15 at the NAB Marconi Radio Awards Dinner & Show, held during the 2011 Radio Show at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago, Illinois.

WASHINGTON, DC -- NAB President and CEO Gordon Smith testified this morning before the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Communications and Technology in a hearing titled "Legislative Hearing to Address Spectrum and Public Safety Issues."

WASHINGTON -- NAB Television Board Chair Marci Burdick has appointed Paul Dughi to the NAB TV Board of Directors effective immediately. Dughi takes the board seat that was vacated when Paul Karpowicz, president, Meredith Corporation - Local Media Group, was elected Joint Board Chair.
